Newest round of updates
With more in the wings
I've just completed yet another round of updates. This time there more substantial and appear more to the visitor of the site rather than the member portion. But that's not to say I didn't ramp that up too!
The first most notable change was that to the image galleries. Now you can hover over the gallery images and see a slightly larger version, as well as when the image was last viewed (if at all) as well as how many times it's been viewed.
Next on the list was simplifying the comment system, and I did this on the back end. But "how does that affect the visitor?" Well I moved the email generation away from being dependent on the actual user interface. This causes the comment to be inserted, as well as the comment list to be updated while in the background it's generating and sending the confirmation email. In all this process took upwards of 4 seconds of process time away from the user interface. So the second you click submit, you should also see your comment pop-up on the page with little to no wait time.
I also added a nifty little add-on Monster ID's. It takes a randomly generated number and builds a monster image based on that. If your a member, and your signed in, it will always create the same image for you. This is mine:

Pretty slick huh. I wish I could take credit for it but I can't.
I've also added BB Code to comments allowing you to quote another comment, or even add an image or URL. There is also a few member functions that I added to the list, like additional help in collections and articles. Also added some custom BB Code to the articles and collections to allow the overly easy insertion of YouTube vids.
In all it was a lot of work. But compaired to whats next it's childs play. Oh and by the way, Silverlight slideshows are next. And maybe a bug fix, that is to say if there any bugs.
Enjoy.
