Version 5.0.1 is out! It's about time too!!! - Updated

This marks the first release of the new year, as well as the first major/full release since at least last June! The new version I'm sure has a few quirks, and a few bugs. But I've done my best to minimize them all through functional testing. In fact thats how I test everything, I'm not by any means a TDD kinda guy.

I've really worked hard on this release to minimize page load times and make as many things cacheable as possible. This mean that all the resources I'm using like jQuery and all it's associated scripts are going to download once, and then stay on your machine. In fact you may even have jQuery loaded on your machine with will reduce the load time even more!

I didn't really add a ton of features but I did iron out a few of the existing ones. For instance I added the ability to delete tags. The only really big feature I added is the ability to register your mobile phone or email address in the case of people with Sprint, and either MMS or email images to a custom email address thats just for you. This will then upload your attached photos to a special gallery.

Another thing I did was make it easier to update your newly uploaded files from when you used the Multi up-loader. You can now update them one at a time rather than having to update them all and wait for the page to reload only to have it fail! I also added a Notification system. The actual body of the notification uses a Markdown editor rather than the TinyMCE editor. I'm giving it a try while I'm getting ready for another app I'm working on. The To: field also uses a new feature, autocomplete. Just start typing a name, and it will pull up everyone with that name.

I finally fixed the TinyMCE editor so it actually loads for editing galleries and articles. This is a huge help. The only reason it needed changes is due to us moving! So I'm really not sure how it's going to work on a normal set up, but it seems to be working in all the tests I've completed.

So thats a quick overview of the functions added into the site. I'll be adding more and making another release some time late this month or early next month as well. So stay tuned for more features and bug fixes.

Edit 2-6-10 11:30am: Attached is also a copy of the site and source. I also included an active database so it's ready to go!
